For those who know their Mughal-e-Azam from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Mango Tree will be transformed into a Bollywood film on the 8th of January 2017. Mango Tree, famed for their innovative take on classic and regional Thai cuisine will be stepping into the vibrant world of Indian national cinema. The celebrations will start at 6.30pm, inspired by both Indian and Thai cuisine and culture, celebrating the first week of the New Year.
The space will be dressed in Indian inspired décor, creating the perfect antidote to the January blues. Famous Bollywood films will be shown throughout the evening, alongside performances from Bollywood dancers, a master class on roti cooking and a DJ playing into the night.
Upon arrival, guests will be greeted with a Mango Lassi cocktail and guided through to the live chef bar where they will be able to sample the Papadai Som Yum made with (flour crackers, served with papaya salad) and Panipuri Tom Yum (semolina and puri with truffle mashed potato and chilled tom yum sauce) before being seated with a mango champagne Bellini. Designed to share, starters will be a selection of Prawn Jeerapan, Chicken Malai Tikka and Panner Salt and Pepper. The second course will be a sharing feast of Prawn Pad Cha, Vegetables Ka Pow, Massaman Lamb, Chicken Green Curry, Tandoori Poussin and Pad Thai Jay. For dessert, guests will enjoy the Shahi-Tukra, a traditional Indian bread pudding dessert made with milk and custard.
Mango Tree is an award winning restaurant located a short walk from Buckingham Palace in the heart of Belgravia, serving a contemporary approach to authentic Thai cuisine.
