Brother Marcus Launches Supper Club Series

Launching from February Balham’s Brother Marcus is putting on a series of Supper Clubs. From chefs to food bloggers, mother and daughter duo’s to street food vendors, the series looks set to put South West London on the foodie map. Serving a variety of different cuisines including Persian, Mexican and hearty English, each residency will be working in collaboration with the Brother Marcus boys to create an exclusive menu based on their love of food and their favourite dishes.

Brother Marcus was founded in May 2016 by three school friends, Alex, Arthur and Tasos who first bonded over a shared passion for food, the hospitality industry and the dream of one day opening their own place. Having been a success from the start the boys wanted to offer other food enthusiasts a chance to cook for an audience in a friendly space and show off their skills.

Tasos says:

“London is a melting pot for cuisines from all over the world and we wanted to showcase these exciting flavours and support other local and independent businesses. Supper clubs are a way to give people of South West London a unique and otherwise unavailable experience, allowing guests an opportunity to sample the best of what London has to offer.”

Chicory Kitchen will be serving a three course Persian menu featuring unique Middle Eastern flavours including Cardamon ice creamand smoked aubergine and pomegranate, while Instagram sensations The London Food Babes (Followers: 90.8k) will be offering a menu derived from their travels in South America featuring tuna tartare and steak with chimichurri sauce. English dishes will be represented by Yorkshire’s very own cookbook author and Instagram phenomenon Sam Stern (Followers: 18.5k) who is creating dishes inspired by his northern upbringing. Alex Hutton previous head chef at Caravan has created a menu based on his love and exposure of Mexican street food from his world travels and will be cooking dishes such as ancho glazed prawns, green almond salsa, garlic chips, and posh filled Yorkshire puddings are being brought by Daft Puddin’s, including flavours of lamb shoulder with Moroccan spices, mac and cheese and strawberry and rhubarb with a white chocolate ganache. Guests will receive a welcome cocktail on arrival which will be created by the boys behind Brother Marcus and will reflect the region of the dishes to follow. Diners can then choose to either have a wine pairing with their menu which will have been carefully chosen to enhance each course, or continue with cocktails.

Brother Marcus will be set up in true supper club style, long wooden tables will fill the room covered with wild flowers and candles giving off dappled warm lighting. Local artwork will adorn the walls alongside potted herbs and foliage complementing the colour palate of stone grey, creamy vanilla and dusky brown. Those wanting can opt to feast amongst dangling fairy lights, ferns, blankets and heaters in the Brother Marcus winter garden. Fully covered with a retractable roof, diners can enjoy a cosy wonderland setting for their meal.

With each residency lasting three nights, Thursday – Saturday, diners will be able to catching the one they want, and with all the different cuisines on offer there will be something for everyone. Guests who want to become friendly with their neighbours head to Brother Marcus for a night of enjoyable food, drink and convocation.
